Osun FRSC holds stakeholders meeting, admonishes road users

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Osun State Command has called on all road users to desist from breaking traffic laws.

Speaking at a Stakeholders Meeting with transport and road unions, themed: Accomplish 5% Reduction in Road Traffic Deaths and Injuries held at FRSC Command Hall, Abere, the Sector Commander, Inyang Umoh warned that offenders with be dealt with accordingly.

Umoh, who was represented by the Deputy Corps Commander, Medinat Akanbi urged road users to be safety conscious by abiding by the traffic rules and regulations.

She said, ” We are appealing to road users to do away with one way traffic and also transporting animals with passengers while on wheels .

” The command will not hesitate to deal with any offenders apprehended violating raid traffic rules.

” If we can not stop accident 100 per cent , we should be able to reduce it and that is possible through collective responsibilities.

The stakeholders meeting witnessed the presence of security sister agencies in the state , transport union members and media practitioners among others.”

In the same vein, the Public Education Officer of the Command, Agnes Ogungbemi warned road users, particularly motorists that ply Lamenco axis to avoid passing one way, due to the ongoing road construction on the road.

She further urged them use alternative route, stressing that everyone should contribute there part in reducing road crashes.

However, the representative of the State Commissioner for Police, Samson Ogunmola, in his remark cautioned against making of calls, browsing among other distractions while driving.
