The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has issued an order directing Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to lead the Force’s intelligence division at the zonal and state command levels across the country.
According to the IGP, the move aims to elevate the Police Force’s intelligence division even more.
The police added that the posting is based on the IGP’s vision statement, which outlines his fervor for strengthening the Intelligence Department’s efficacy at all Force levels as a solution to the nation’s high crime rate.
The IGP on assumption of duty reactivated the Presidential approval to upgrade the Force Intelligence Bureau to the status of a Department with the appointment of DIG Habu Sanni, as the DIG in charge of the new Department of Force Intelligence.
