BREAKING: Cote D’Ivoire Clinchs 3rd AFCON Title, Defeats Nigeria

by admin

In the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final match, the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

On Sunday, the Ivorians defeated the Eagles 2-1 at the Olympic Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.

Nigeria will now have to retry for a fourth AFCON championship, following victories in 1980, 1994, and 2013, at the upcoming tournament in Morocco in 2025.

However, the Ivorians won their third title today, making them one of the select few nations on the continent to have both hosted and taken home the continent’s most coveted trophy.

Details later.
