Residents of Kajola, Atakunmosa East Local Government Area of Osun State have protested against plans to install Aderibigbe Omirin as the Loja of Kajolaby the state Government.
The protesters on Thursday, along Osogbo-Ilesha, were seen carrying different placards with different incriptions in Yoruba “egba wa won fe fi opa ase da walah sile nilu kajola” among others
Speaking at the protest, Prince Akinyemi Benjamin, said that the installation of Aderibigbe Omirin was illegal, as he claimed that he was a traditional ruler from Ilase.
Aderibigbe was once a king of Ilase, according to Benjamin, and he could not rule over another town.
In addition, he claimed that Omirin’s attorney is Barr. Dosu Babatunde, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, and that the case is currently ongoing at the Court of Appeal, Akure.
In an effort to prevent intercommunal strife in the community, Iyabo Adegbobi and Iyaloja Kajola also made an urgent plea to the State Government.
