The Osun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Michael Adaralewa, has reaffirmed his readiness to deploy personnel to partner the Nigeria Corrections Armed Squad to guard correctional centres in Osun State.

The assurance was made by the Commandant during a Friday visit to Mr. Tolu Ogunsakin, the Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service in Osun State.

Recall that on Wednesday, at a security council meeting, the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, demanded that correctional facilities be strengthened to serve as a barrier against jailbreak.

The Nigeria Correctional Service was tasked with stopping jail escape throughout the nation, and the Command promised to support them, according to a statement released by the command spokeswoman, Kehinde Adeleke.

‘’NSCDC is saddled with the responsibility of protecting critical national asset and infrastructure and am assuring you that the command is ready to support Nigeria Correctional service to checkmate Jail break in the country,” Adaralewa said.

Speaking further, the Commandant called for a synergy between the two agencies to achieve the goal of protection of lives and property.

He called for support from all stakeholders to put an end to security challenges facing the country.

The State Controller of Corrections, Mr. Tolu Ogunsakin while responding, appreciated the new NSCDC Commandant for the visit, expressing his readiness to work closely with the corps to improve security architecture in the state.
