Osun: Sexagenarian man, 50-year-old friend found dead

A man in his sixties simply identified as Ali Baba and his 52-year-old friend, Kayode Olete, have been found dead in Inisa, Odo-otin Local Government of Osun State.

The two friends had stabbed themselves to death, as neighbors saw when they discovered them in a pool of blood.

Residents discovered them dead in a pool of blood on Friday morning, after the incident that which reportedly occurred on Thursday evening at around 9 p.m.

The Sexagenarian was said to be a longtime resident of Inisa and a palm wine tapper from Ghana.

Findings showed that the deceased were known to be good friends for many years before the incident that led to the suspected fight broke out.

“Nobody knows what led to their fight as the house where the incident happened is isolated and dilapidated. Passersby later saw them in a pool of blood as they have stabbed themselves with the intestine popping out,” sources told Blueprint.

The spokesperson to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Adeleke Kehinde, confirmed the incident.

She said, “When we heard, our officers immediately contacted the chairman of the LCDA and the elders of the community. When we got to the scene this morning (Friday), it was discovered that the two of them had passed on. The families of the two victims were contacted and they gave their consent for them to be buried,” Kehinde said.
