The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will on Monday, September 30, 2024 swear in 87 newly appointed Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs).
This event, which marks her first major assignment as CJN, will take place in the main courtroom of the Supreme Court and begin at 10 a.m., in accordance with the Court’s tradition
Director of Information and Public Relations of the Supreme Court, Dr. Akande Festus, in a statement noted that the event will follow the longstanding tradition of the court.
The statement partly reads, “During the special court session, the CJN will deliver a State of the Judiciary address, reflecting on the 2023/2024 legal year and assessing the performance of both the Supreme Court and the broader Nigerian Judiciary.
” In addition, key figures from the justice sector, including the Attorney – General of the Federation and the Chairman of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN), will also deliver speeches concerning the state of the nation’s justice system.
“The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) will also be among those addressing the gathering.”
