Adeleke commissions computerized inspection service in Osun

The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday, commissioned a computerized inspection service for vehicle roadworthiness in the State.

The Computerised Testing Center will test the road worthiness of vehicles before issuing vehicle papers and allowing them to ply the road and also assist motorists to detect faults in the vehicles with the use technology.

Speaking at the commissioning event in Osogbo, the State Capital, the Governor stressed that the project is the first of its kind among other intervention of his administration to reposition the State’s Transportation sector.

He added that the sector is a very sensitive one that must be taken very serious as it deals with human lives.

He said, “As you all know, the Transportation sector is a very sensitive one which must not be handled with kid gloves. This is a sector that deals with human lives. We are talking about the movement of people and goods from one point to another, hence the roads must be safe at all times.

“We are here to commission an ultramodern vehicle Testing Center in Osogbo, the first of its kind in the history of Osun State. Like I said earlier, we follow the global best practices in the transportation sector. This test center right here is the first of its kind among other intervention of our administration to reposition the State’s Transportation sector

“The Computerised Testing Center among other services will test the road worthiness of vehicles before issuing vehicle papers and allowing them to ply the road. The Center will also assist motorists to detect faults in the vehicles easily, instead of patronizing quack mechanics.”

Earlier, the Group Managing Director Temple Group Limited, Segun Obayendo, stressed that the inspection service will not only provide employment buts services as a source of revenue generation

In his words, “The two center we are commissioning today is going to employ noting less than 30 engineers.

“As side from providing job opportunities and saving life, it’s also going to serve as a source of revenue.”
