The Osun Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday, inaugurated board members for the Osun State Health Insurance Agency, OSHIA.

Speaking at the inauguration held at the Exco Lounge, Office of the Governor, Abere, the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Rasaq Akindele, stressed that the state has the lowest subscription for health insurance in the country.

Akindele said, “Osun state has the lowest premium of health insurance in the country, it charges 1.5% of the basic salary for the formal sector, and for the informal sector the tariff they pay is #12,066 per person for a year and #57,600 for the whole year.

“Most members of the OSHIA board are statutory, it’s not like the usual political board, the reason for that is not far fetched, it’s an agency that will take care of all the civil servants and also non civil servants enrolled with the agency.”

Meanwhile, representing Governor Adeleke, the Deputy Governor of the State, Kola Adewusi, expressed his confidence ob the newly inaugurated board members, wishing them success in the task ahead.

He said, “We are expecting the best from you all, it is a very big task but with the caliber of people sworn in now I have no fear.

We wish you well ahead of your assignment and we are looking forward to a better performance.”
