No fewer than 185,825 persons including the vulnerable have benefited from various projects embarked upon by the Osun State Government Community and Social Development Agency, CSDA.
Addressing journalists at the NUJ correspondences’ chapel, on the achievements of the agency, it’s General Manager, Funmi Abokede, revealed that the state government has committed over N2billion to the provision of rural infrastructures such as water, health facilities, road amongst others.
She added that 94,439 females and 91,286 males, cut across the local and development area councils of the state have benefited from the agency.
Also, 121 water and sanitation, health, education, lock-up shops were said to have been provided for the people in communities including hard to reach areas.
Abokede said 176 micro projects have been completed while about 92 are still ongoing which she said would soon be completed.
She disclosed that government has committed over N2 billion for rural development projects across the local council areas of the state which are visible for everybody to see.
The CSDA General Manager hinted that the areas that have benefitted from the agency were carefully selected by the communities themselves who visited their office, bringing proposals on identified areas of their needs.
According to her, the vision and mission of the agency is to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people especially those who have health challenges.
She explained that many communities are demanding for road, transformers for their communities adding that transformation agenda of the state governor, Ademola Adeleke has paid off in providing basic needs of the people.
“The Agency has been able to assist the people who are vulnerable to many communities. The agency has visited to provide their basic needs and many of them have received succour through the agency magnanimity.
According to her, “We have been able to provide succour to many communities, some of them have showered praises on the Agency. We were able to achieve all these through the support of Mr Governor who has been magnanimous enough to provide the needed and necessary support for the Agency in carrying out its work without any hindrance.”
Abokede, however, assured that the agency will continue to reach out to rural dwellers by ensuring they enjoy what their counterparts enjoy in urban cities of the state.
